Mr. CHOI Kwok-hung joined the Hong Kong Fire Services Department in 1991 as Station Officer. He rose through the ranks to Divisional Officer in April 2017. In his Fire Services career, he has worked in many echelons of the Department including operational duties; fire protection duties and technical rescue. In 2011, Mr. CHOI played an important role in the establishment of the High Angle Rescue Team (HART). This specialized team is responsible for complicated rescue operation at challenging locations, such as cable car systems, gondola, transtainers and super high-rise buildings et cetera. Mr. CHOI is currently posted at the Technical Rescue Unit of the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy (FASA) as the Assistant Commandant (Technical Rescue). At present, the High Angle Rescue Team (HART), Mountain Search and Rescue Team (MSRT), Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR), Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Unit (CFBT) and the HazMat Support Unit are under his command. Mr. CHOI is also responsible for all technical rescue trainings for over 5,000 operational members of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department.
